Gus, our beloved friend.
Aside from being away our friends and family, we are very sad about leaving the most lovable cat on the planet, Gus. Scott got him when he was a kitten, and he’s been an important part of the family for 12 years.
Gus is an indoor/outdoor cat; quite savvy to the neighborhood predators. That said, you’ll find him most days in our laps or curled up in a basket somewhere inside our home.
We’re lucky to have found a loving home for him right across the street. Getting him acclimated to this new home was an almost daily ritual of taking him across the street to spend the day and eat his meals there with his new family. This was a gut-wrenching process at first, as Gus did not want to go. But over the course of the next couple of weeks, each time was a little easier — on all of us.
What we knew for sure was that this bundle of love would be loved and well-taken care for, and that meant everything.
