Scott’s Story…

Kelly and I are about to embark on the trip people dream about, but rarely do. Soon after we met, we talked about eventually traveling around the world together.

Things changed quickly. When the idea popped into my head that now was the time, Kelly didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes.’ I was so surprised by her quick response that I asked her again at least 5 times that night and then once again the next morning.

Without her this trip wouldn’t have happened. I can’t imagine doing this trip with anyone else. I feel blessed to have her at my side.

Kelly’s Story…

Scott and I met on Match.com. On our first date on January 18th, 2017, Scott and I talked about traveling, working and living in LA, and family. What was supposed to be a meet-and-greet/one-glass-of-wine sort of date, ended up lasting 3 1/2 hours. It was love at first date.

On our second date, we said ‘I love you.’

One month later, I said ‘yes’ to a week-long Grand Canyon river rafting trip scheduled for the summer of 2019 with 20 of Scott’s closest friends and family.

Six months after our first date, I moved in.

Slow and steady isn’t our pace.

Saying ‘yes’ to this adventure was easy, but that’s not the whole story. In July of 2019 — a couple of weeks after we completed the Grand Canyon excursion — Scott had gotten notice that his employer, Google, was closing his division. We immediately knew we needed to downsize and lower our expenses. I was thinking a condo in Los Angeles, Scott was thinking a house in Albuquerque. We couldn’t be further apart. Then this brilliant man pitches the around-the-world trip idea. OK, finally…something we can agree on!

Fast forward four months….the house sold. Closing date set. I quit my job, and am now realizing a dream of a lifetime to see the world with the man I love.

Who’s the lucky one?
